Welcome to Never Was. The name of this site is taken from my favourite book as a child “Not Here and Never Was” by Virginia Smith. It is about a dinosaur named “Not Here” and dragon named “Never Was”. Since I am mainly a writer of Fantasy the name “Never Was” seamed somewhat appropriate as my stories and novels never were.I have frequently questioned what the future of publishing will look like. Will traditional print books continue to dominate the market or will computers and the Internet change the way we read? If e-books or some other new publishing method are going to take off it makes sense to take my writing in that direction.
I believe that e-publishing is the way of the future. I see things like e-books and audio/podcast books/stories being where publishing is heading. I honestly think that as we push on into the future people are going to be looking for easy portable ways to consume their entertainment. The IPod is here to stay.
With this in mind I have created this site. I intend on using it as an experiment in the future of publishing. Since this site is an experiment you may find that I change the delivery methods of my works.
